Korrie C. Lawson (formerly Korrie L. Cotney), the newest member of our legal team, is a 2007 graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Law where she earned a joint Juris Doctor and Masters of Public Administration (J.D./M.P.A) degree. Additionally, Mrs. Lawson completed all requirements necessary for certification as a Texas Mediator and Family Law Mediator.
Education and Career History
A native of Abilene, she graduated from Texas Tech University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Interior Design and Architecture (Cum Laude). While at Texas Tech, Mrs. Lawson was actively involved in the Mortar Board Honor Society, Delta Delta Delta Fraternity, Race for the Cure, Children's Cancer Charities, Habitat for Humanity, and Make a Wish Foundation.
During law school, Mrs. Lawson served as a summer intern for the Honorable Lee Hamilton of the 104th Texas District Court in Abilene, Texas, studied abroad in Geneva, Switzerland as part of the United Nations Working Group, and held a summer associate position at Davidson & Troilo, P.C. in San Antonio, Texas. Most recently, she has been employed as an intern in the legal department of San Antonio Water Systems (SAWS).
Areas of Practice
Mrs. Lawson focuses her practice at King & Sommer, LLP on business, finance, real estate, and corporate issues. She also has experience in public and environmental law issues, including drafting city ordinances and attending city charter and local water board meetings on behalf of clients.
Memberships, Community Involvement and Service
Mrs. Lawson is an active member of Junior League of San Antonio, the State Bar of Texas, the San Antonio Bar Association, the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association, and CREW.
Personal
Mrs. Lawson recently wed Landon W. Lawson, in July 2008 in small ceremony in Barcelona, Spain. In her free time, Mrs. Lawson enjoys cooking, photography, and traveling. |
