Murray H. Van Eman focuses his practice on general corporate matters, real estate, business transactions, campaign finance, and lobby law compliance. He is licensed to practice law in Texas and the District of Columbia.
A native of far west Texas, Murray Van Eman graduated from Texas A&M University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science. Murray obtained his law degree from the St. Mary’s School of Law and joined the firm of Arter & Hadden LLP in San Antonio as an associate upon graduation. The firm later became Loeffler Tuggey Pauerstein Rosenthal LLP, a San Antonio-based national law firm. Prior to joining King & Sommer, LLP, Murray developed a solo practice focusing on all types of business transactions for small businesses. Before entering law school, Murray served on the Washington, D.C. legislative staff of former Congressman Henry Bonilla.
During his legal practice, Murray has developed significant experience involving complex contract review, drafting and negotiation, entity formation and maintenance, partnership agreement development, litigation management and commercial law. In the area of real estate, his expertise extends to all levels of real estate and real estate financing, including commercial, residential, multifamily and retail, borrower’s/lender’s counsel, development agreements, leasing, and land development advice.
His legal experience extends to legal advice concerning campaign finance, lobby law and government ethics requirements at the local, state and federal level. Client services include political action committee management and legal counsel, lobby law compliance and government ethics advice.

Memberships, Community Involvement and Service
Murray currently serves as the chairman of the City of San Antonio Planning Commission, leading the regulatory commission overseeing most aspects of development in San Antonio. Appointed by the San Antonio City Council and elected chairman by the Planning Commission, he has been a member of the Commission since August 2002.
He is a graduate of the 30th Anniversary Class of Leadership San Antonio (2004-2005), a leadership development and community service program jointly sponsored by the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Murray is currently a member of the Steering Committee for the Leadership San Antonio Class XXXIV.
As a strong advocate of organ donation, Murray currently serves on the board of directors of the National Kidney Foundation South Central Texas.
Murray is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Young Lawyers Association, the District of Columbia Bar, the San Antonio Bar Association and the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association. He serves as Chairman of the San Antonio Bar Association Real Estate Section and is the President-Elect of the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association.
He is a guest lecturer at Trinity University and the University of Texas at San Antonio, speaking on urbal planning and public policy.

Murray was recently recognized as a 40 Under 40 Rising Star by the San Antonio Business Journal from nearly 300 nominations for his career advancement, commitment to the legal community and community involvement.
In 2006, Murray was awarded Volunteer of the Year by the National Kidney Foundation South Central Texas. |
